“ A Culinary Highlight of Our Trip! This restaurant was hands down our favorite dining experience during our trip. Everything about it—service, ambiance, and food—was absolutely incredible. The level of care and attention from the staff made us feel truly welcomed, and the setting was both elegant and inviting. The food, however, was the true star of the evening. The ceviche alone was a masterpiece, with a sauce so delicious and perfectly balanced that we couldn’t stop raving about it. The grilled meat, prepared over an open flame, was cooked to absolute perfection—juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. Every bite was a delight for the senses. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. If you’re a lover of exceptional food and impeccable service, this is a must-visit! ”
“ This has to be the best high end restaurant in El Cuyo. We have eaten at a Lot of places in town and this place is amazing. The atmosphere and general vibe is relaxed but a bit classy at the same time kinda of place you probably need a shirt to feel comfortable. The owner is very welcoming and his english is fantastic. The waiters and waitresses are attentive and understand enough english to get by. With our limited spanish we had no trouble getting by. It was so good the first night we went back the next. We were craving beef and we both ordered thier burger. It was maybe a 1/2 lb patty on a great bun cooked exactly to order. It was amazing. Definitely the best burger I have had in months and I eat a lot of burgers. It's priced accordingly but definitely worth the investment. I will have it again before my vacation is up. The next night we went back and got the steak. It's called picanna steak I believe. Once again fantastic cook precisely right and very flavorful. Not tuff and pretty lean. It's a generous portion. I'd geuss possibly 12 oz. The mash potatoes were good and the grilled onions perfect combination with the steak. This is priced very reasonably. You could not get a steak like this in the usa for anywhere near this price. I would say you would pay 2 to 3 times the price in any small town USA for a similar steak. Definitely a must try in El Cuyo. ”
“ Great place to eat while in El Cuyo! Atmosphere is great. I love the vibe. Food was and always is delish. Cooked perfectly. We ate ceviche, a steak plate, fish plate and the vegan cabbage dish. And I drank a Paloma, which was fab so I had 2 . Until next time... ”
“ Phenomenal food, ambiance & people here! The Costilla (ribs) melt in your mouth, sides, chaya & mashed potatoes taste incredible, this food is Michelin level in my opinion. Oh and do not leave here without having their mojito, hands down the best I've ever had! ”
“ One of the best restaurants in the area and probably in our entire vacation. If you’re looking for something else than burritos or tacos, then you’ll find more sophisticated food here. Great food. It has a relaxed and laid back atmosphere, and service is good. ”
“ Don’t miss this spot! Set in an intimate backyard garden. Friendly service and innovative local food is beyond delicious. Highly recommend! ”
“ We enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Zapote. They were completely full, busy with dinner rush but still managed to seat us on a low table and give proper service, the staff were very friendly and professional. The food was excellent, exciting flavor and very reasonably priced. Don’t forget to try some Magey ice cream for dessert. ”
“ Best food, service and ambiance in El Cuyo. Well thought out menu, excellent execution and good sized portions. The tostones appetizer is amazing as well as the 10hr beef short rib which is very rich and decadent. You can share most dishes and still have leftovers. ”
